We care about our environment and our clients do too. We have reduced power use by 40% in two years via server virtualiasation and using low power servers.  As part of our drive to reduce our carbon footprint we have taken several measures.  We are proud to say that we have reduced our carbon footprint by 45% in twenty four months.  We’ve achieved this by doing a number of things.

1. We switched to low-power servers for our business hosting clients
2. We stopped sending invoices, quotes and contracts by post and all such correspondence is sent via secure email.
3. We scrapped all company cars and even our directors get to work by bicycle or walking.
4. We reduced printing and mailshots turning to emarketing instead (although we do sometimes send out small, local mailshots)
5. We ensured that all power was monitored and clients using high levels of power were consulted and advised of ways to reduce their power costs and use

In addition we now offset every Amp of power from new clients 100% and are working towards offsetting every Amp that we currently use.  In addition we are retro-offsetting all other equipment too and aim to be 100% carbon-neutral across the range by 2010.

We are investigating breakthrough server technologies to ensure that our clients do not have to worry about their carbon footprint. In 2009 we are working with the Carbon Trust to find even more ways to reduce our carbon footprint.  It’s never been easier to be environmentaly friendly in the hosting industry – we do all of the carbon-offsetting for you.  Babakoto has been a pioneer in green hosting and continues to search for new and exciting ways to be greener than the rest.  The government has stated that by 2020 businesses will have to reduce their footprint by a considerable amount.
